Hi! I’m Katya Rusin, the heart and hands behind Lavka Flowers. I’m a florist, designer, and the proud owner of this little floral studio that I started in 2016. Flowers have always been more than just a business for me - they are my passion, my art, and my way of bringing beauty into people’s most special moments.

Before launching Lavka Flowers, I spent years working for different floral companies in NYC. But something always felt missing. Big companies often focus on volume, but I care about the details, the personal connections, and the quality of every single arrangement. That’s why I decided to step away and create something of my own - something more intimate, thoughtful, and truly special.

The name Lavka comes from an old Russian word for a small store (though, fun fact - it can also mean a bench!). I chose this name because I wanted my business to feel like a charming little shop, where every flower is chosen with love and every design is crafted with care.

Why I Love What I Do

For me, every wedding is personal. It’s not just another event - it’s a story, a once-in-a-lifetime moment that deserves to be unforgettable. I pour my heart into every design, making sure that each couple gets something beyond what they imagined. I handpick the most beautiful blooms, carefully considering color, texture, and movement to create arrangements that feel natural, lush, and full of life.

What I love most about weddings is the energy - the happiness, the laughter, the pure joy of the day. It’s an honor to be part of such a meaningful occasion, and I take that responsibility seriously. After all, once the wedding is over, all that remains are memories and photos - and my job is to make sure those memories are breathtaking.

A Little About Me

Beyond flowers, my world is filled with love. I have an amazing, supportive husband who helps me in more ways than I can count, and we have a wonderful two-year-old daughter who fills our days with laughter and joy. Family means everything to me, and I bring that same warmth and dedication to my work.
